It might be interesting for Voxforge users that Kaldi project has made availalbe a Librispeech corpus of 1000 hours segmented from Librivox books.

This corpus provides a good foundation for open source speech recognition and should fulfill the needs from researchers.

The license is pretty permissive, it even might have sense to include Librispeech into Voxforge distribution.
