VoxForge
I am unable to provide samples to the open source community via the Simon uploader. When I click on "Contribue Samples" It gives me a timeout error (after only like 2 seconds) saying it could not connect to voxforge.
I try and use the automatic information in Simon:
voxforge.org:4440
I think you all are missing out on a ton of samples from Simon with it not working.
Can I submit them another way? (I don't necessarily have the text prompts already correlated with them in my working directory, but I could)

Simon sscd logs said it could not connect to mysql - restarted both, should work now.
thanks for letting me know,
ken

Confirmed, it is working.
I have submitted my samples via simon.
I also did extra ones on the web page using the java applet.
I was looking at the approval ratings for samples via the web pages. Do you have people approving them? If so, how can I volunteer to confirm the voice matches given text prompt?

For English, this is mostly automated (though not perfect).
The acoustic model build scripts create an acoustic model with the speech audio in a submission and try to recognize the prompt sentences - this flags submissions for later manual review. Nothing web based.
For the other languages, some basic checks are made (no silence recordings, audio not too loud or soft, checks for leading and trailing silence) which flag questionable submissions for later manual review.

Go to the listen page, download the submission archive file, listen to the audio, if there are problems: add a comment to the submission's forum page. I can update the source audio in the subversion repository.

Hi!
I am trying to upload to voxforge my (greek) corpus of recordings (a few hours), made through simon speech.
Unfortunately in the upload window greek is not offered as an option. Peter from the simon project says this is server-side and i should contact you instead.
Can you help?

I added Greek to the language list on the sscd server (Simon's upload server).
Please try again,
thanks,
Ken
