Web translations looks good.

I've added a Persian section to web site (http://www.voxforge.org/fa) and incorporated your translations (as best I could...).

You now have access to this section (not viewable to public yet) so you can make corrections... see this FAQ page: Editing Content with WebGUI, and post any questions you may have here.

Now to start work on incorporating your Java applet translations...

thanks for all your help on this,

Ken

Thanks Ken, I just checked the fa pages, can you also align the text on the right?

(usually beside text alignmnet which should be right, you also need to set

direction: rtl;

in stlyles as well, so that the text reads okay)

Thanks!

Thanks Ken

I've also made few changes to make it look better (headings and etc.)

Once the Java applet is done, I think it's ready to go live!

I've also created the Persian page for the VoxForge project in wikipedia:

https://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%88%DA%A9%D8%B3_%D9%81%D8%B1%D8%AC

In the mean time, do I need to do anything else?

Thanks

Morrie

Hi Morrie,

>Once the Java applet is done, I think it's ready to go live!

Java applet should be completed, but I am having trouble getting it to work on Fedora 20 - issues with Icedtea in FireFox (BTW Google Chrome no longer supports Java on Linux...).

It works on Firefox on Windows 7.  But you need to have a microphone connected or you'll get an error like this:

ERROR

Line matching interface TargetDataLine supporting format PCM_SIGNED 48000.0 Hz, 16 bit, mono, 2 bytes/frame, little-endian not supported.

Please submitt some test submissions and let me know of any issues,

thanks,

Ken

I tried with Firefox on Mac, it worked okay and I submitted 10 prompts twice.

One thing which just looked weired was the position of labels and dropdows. For Persian, the label should be on the right side of the dropdown (if that's too much work, then you can simply remove column : from label's text and keep as is).

Also if possible either make the boxes which has prompts a little bit taller or decrease the font size for prompts text (because some parts of the text was not visible for some prompts)

I think going forward, there should be an app for recording (which should be easier to use than struggling with Java applet)

Thanks

Morrie

had few more submissions, seems to be working okay with Firefox on Mac.

(it did not work with Safari on Mac with the same mic connected, failing with same error which you mentioned)

also if possible, align the text in side the textboxes to right

Thanks

Java does not make things easy to do  this...

The height of the box containing a prompt line is dependent on the font used.  So I selected a larger font for Persian, and the characters look larger when I display the java applet in Eclipse.  But in a browser, the fonts size looks the same...

Regardless let me know if things look better.

thanks,

Ken

P.S. when viewing the java applet, make sure you are using version 0.2.2b (not the old 0.2.2).  Browser caching can create weird problems... you might need to manually clear the old 0.2.2 version from you Browser's cache.

Thanks Ken

Looks reasonably well now. I submitted few more recordings as well.

Do you have any plans for making the Persian section public?

Thanks

Morrie
